Clients are invited to explore how childhood or past experiences have led to feeling anxious, depressed, or disconnected from themselves and in relationships. We take a look at the way previous generations and/or the people in their lives have either hurt or helped shape them. Where appropriate we explore how culture, family dynamics, societal expectations, and the state of the world also contribute to current stressors and distress.

Couples Therapy

A black-and-white photo of a couple with foreheads touching, eyes closed, and hands on each other's shoulders.

In couples therapy, I work to understand the dynamics in the relationship that have been created. It is not about finding who to blame, it is about identifying the negative cycle couples fall into that lead to disconnection. We create a safe space in sessions for each person to express themselves in a way where they can be heard, feel seen, and build connection. It is important to understand that it takes two willing people to make a relationship work and I’ll be there to help you navigate the wounds and miscommunication that have built up throughout the history of your relationship.

Sex Therapy

A smiling couple lying in bed, looking at each other affectionately.

Sex therapy is designed to explore the shame and discomfort you may be experiencing about your sex life. My goal is to support you in feeling empowered to embrace your sexuality in a way that feels aligned with who you are/want to be. Sometimes sex is the first thing off the priority list in a relationship or when life gets busy, but what many do not realize is that we end up taking away an additional way to connect with our partner and ourselves. Let’s work through the discomfort or challenges you are experiencing that prevent you from stepping into your sexual self confidence.

Disclaimer:

1. I am not an American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) Certified Therapist yet. Working on it though!

2. Professional Sex Therapy NEVER includes sexual acts during sessions. This is talk therapy along with other modalities/interventions (CBT, EFT) being used to help manage and treat sexual health challenges.
